The Shortlist for the 2024 Fresh Voice Fellowship
We are pleased to announce the shortlist for Epiphany’s 2024 Fresh Voices Fellowship. The Fresh Voices Fellowship, begun in 2021, supports one emerging Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, or other writer of color who does not have a BA nor MFA in creative writing. This fellowship seeks to create opportunities for BIPOC writers by bringing visibility to new fresh talent, expanding their access to editorial mentorship and providing experience in independent publishing.
We thank everyone who submitted to this year’s fellowship, and congratulate the eight shortlisted writers, listed below.
Ash Ford (poetry)
Belgia Jong (prose)
Sara Montijo (prose)
Daniel Ogba (prose)
Pegah Ouji (prose)
Zen Ren (poetry)
Shakeema Smalls (poetry)
Nicole Zhu (prose)
From this selection of eight talented writers, one fellow will be chosen. The Fresh Voices fellow will be published in a print issue, be part of Epiphany’s editorial team and participate in the print and online publication process, and receive a $2000 stipend. Two runners-up will be published in a future print issue. The other five finalists will have their work featured on Epiphany’s website.
